Unresponsive Woman Found in Parked Vehicle in Somerset, Vermont

SOMERSET — On the evening of March 13, Vermont State Police and the Wilmington Fire Department responded to a call regarding an unresponsive woman in a parked vehicle on Somerset Road. The authorities were alerted to the situation due to a strong chemical odor emanating from the vehicle.

Upon their arrival at approximately 9:53 p.m., emergency responders took immediate action to secure the scene and ensure the safety of the surrounding area. As a precautionary measure, the Vermont Hazmat team was called in to assess the situation.

After thorough inspection, the vehicle and its immediate vicinity were deemed secure. Unfortunately, the woman found inside the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as 41-year-old Alexandra Andrade from Stamford, Connecticut.

Following the discovery of Andrade’s body, detectives from the Vermont State Police were dispatched to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. In order to determine the cause and manner of her passing, Andrade’s body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy.

Authorities have stated that they do not consider Andrade’s death to be suspicious, and there is no perceived threat to public safety at this time. Mitigation efforts in response to the chemical hazard present at the scene were successfully completed on the afternoon of March 14.
