One California resident, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted how he and his business partner entrusted Chavez with $25,000 for investment in protein cookies. Eventually, Chavez’s clients connected on social media and realized they had all fallen victim to a possible scam.

The Luxurious Facade

Chavez’s lifeless body was discovered in a desert area near Baker, California, where his suspected killer, Gino Julian, was found sleeping in a car stuck in the sand. The tow truck drivers who responded to the scene made a grim discovery of Chavez’s body just feet away from Julian’s vehicle.

The Arrest and Charges

Julian was promptly arrested by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, with investigators piecing together the events that led to Chavez’s murder. It is believed that the fatal altercation took place at a residence in Las Vegas, leading to a grand jury indictment against Julian for charges including open murder.
