Accident – Death – Obituary News : Police have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of the body of a 17-year-old boy in a park near the Laxmi Narayan temple in Sector 44 during the early hours of Thursday morning.

The victim has been identified as Jetinder Singh, a resident of Burail in Sector 45, Chandigarh. His lifeless body was found by morning walkers at around 7 am, who promptly alerted the authorities. Upon closer inspection, investigators noted that the victim appeared to have been strangled to death, with a deep injury mark visible on his neck.

Jetinder Singh is survived by his father, who works as a mason, and his brother, who is employed as a painter. Initial police inquiries suggest that Singh did not return home on Wednesday night, as it was his habit to spend the night out with friends. Authorities also revealed that the victim was known to be a drug addict.

Inspector Baldev Kumar, the Station House Officer at Sector 34 police station, confirmed that a case has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. A thorough multi-angle investigation is currently underway to uncover the truth behind this tragic incident.
