Search and Rescue Operation Continues for Missing Passengers After Dewi Jaya 2 Capsizes
Search and rescue personnel in Makassar are tirelessly working to locate 24 people who went missing after the fishing boat Dewi Jaya 2 capsized in the waters of South Sulawesi on Saturday. The National Search and Rescue Agency’s (Basarnas) Makassar Office has deployed teams to support the mission of finding the missing individuals.
Details of the Incident
The tragic incident occurred approximately 52 nautical miles from Benteng Port in the Selayar Islands district of South Sulawesi. The boat, which was carrying 37 people, encountered bad weather conditions that led to its capsizing. Out of the total passengers, 11 managed to survive the accident, while two were found dead. The remaining 24 individuals are still unaccounted for.

Survivors and Identification
The survivors of the accident have been identified as Dian Kurniawan, Amirrulhaq, M. Zaki Muntaha, Waryen, Tahmid, Amiluddin, Adi Bagus Panuntun, Septo Guntoro, Maulana Dwi Anggoro, Sun Hen Lakis, and Muzakkir Lakis. Efforts are ongoing to locate the missing passengers and bring them safely back to shore.
