The victim, identified as 69-year-old Pir Baksh Solangi, a retired engineer hailing from Dadu district, was found brutally murdered in a building in this area.

Background of the Victim

Pir Baksh Solangi, a retired engineer of Port Qasim, led a private and independent life in his five-story residential building in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Phase 1. His family structure was complex, with two marriages that resulted in a total of six children – three sons and three daughters from his first marriage, and a son and a daughter from his second marriage.

Discovery of the Body

The shocking discovery of Solangi’s body was made by his son, who became concerned when his father did not touch the meal left for him the previous night. Upon inquiring with a woman in the building, they found the elderly engineer’s body on the ground floor, with his throat slashed by a sharp-edged weapon.

Police Investigation

Upon receiving the report, the police from the Steel Town police station arrived at the scene and secured the body for medico-legal procedures at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC). The primary suspect is believed to have used broken glass to carry out the brutal murder of Pir Baksh Solangi.
