Kansas Felon Caught After Police Chase and Scooter Crash in Atchison County

ATCHISON COUNTY—Authorities in Atchison County, Kansas, are currently investigating a Kansas felon who was apprehended following a dramatic police chase and scooter crash.

According to Police Chief Mike Wilson, the incident unfolded shortly after 11 a.m. on a Tuesday when a police officer attempted to pull over a Suzuki motor scooter in the vicinity of 17th and Kansas Avenue in Atchison.

The scooter, driven by 31-year-old Christopher Edwards, evaded the officer and led them on a chase that spanned several blocks before ultimately crashing. Edwards then fled the scene on foot, prompting officers to pursue him.

During the pursuit, Edwards sought refuge in a residential property on Atchison Street, forcibly entering the home through the front door and pushing aside several occupants as he made his escape through the rear exit.
