Man Arrested for Allegedly Kidnapping and Holding Teen Girl Hostage near Big Bear Lake

A man has been arrested after allegedly kidnapping and holding a teenage girl hostage at his home near Big Bear Lake in a disturbing incident that has shocked the community.

Suspect identified and Details of the Incident

The suspect has been identified as Zackary Dourousseau, a 26-year-old man, according to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Department. The victim, a 17-year-old girl, was picked up by Dourousseau on March 1 at around 8 p.m. The suspect then drove the girl to his home, where he allegedly demanded sex from her.

When the girl refused, Dourousseau reportedly held her captive for six days, refusing to let her leave the home. During this time, the victim was provided with minimal food and water, while being forced to consume large amounts of alcohol by the suspect.

Additionally, the girl was coerced into having sex with Dourousseau in exchange for her freedom. The suspect would take her with him when driving to work and leave her locked inside his car during the day.

Escape and Arrest

On March 7, the courageous girl managed to escape from the vehicle and seek help at a nearby business on the 40700 block of Village Drive. Dourousseau was later located at his home on the 300 block of Los Angeles Avenue in Sugarloaf, a community less than a mile from Big Bear City, and was taken into custody.

Charges and Investigation

Dourousseau has been arrested on charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, and statutory rape. A court hearing is scheduled for March 18 at the San Bernardino Superior Courthouse.
