Tragic Motor Vehicle Crash Claims Life of Waterbury Mother
A devastating incident unfolded on Tuesday morning in Waterbury, as a mother lost her life in a tragic motor vehicle crash, leaving her two young daughters with minor injuries.
Authorities from the Waterbury Police Department were alerted to the scene at 168 Jersey St. at approximately 8:34 a.m., responding swiftly to reports of a vehicle colliding with a tree.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered the driver, identified as 23-year-old Jermiyiah Pegue, and her two young daughters inside the vehicle. Pegue was rushed to Waterbury Hospital with severe injuries but sadly succumbed to her wounds shortly after being admitted.
Fortunately, the two children, both 3-year-old girls, sustained only minor injuries and were promptly treated at the hospital before being discharged, as confirmed by the police.

Investigations conducted by the Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit revealed that Pegue was the mother of both children travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
