UDHAMPUR, Mar 12: Three young individuals from Doda district met a tragic end in a devastating road accident that occurred near Garnai on the National Highway, late last night.

According to reports from the Police, the motorcycle, with registration number DL9SBF-1630, was en route from Udhampur to Jammu when it collided with a truck bearing registration number JK02B-5504 at Garnai near Traffic Naka Point on the National Highway.
The tragic incident took place around 0030 hrs last night, where two of the victims lost their lives on the spot, while the third victim succumbed to injuries on the way to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.

Police Response

SHO Rehambal, Nishad Ahamed, upon receiving information about the accident, promptly led a Police team to the scene. The victims were immediately transported to District Hospital Udhampur, where two were declared brought dead. The third victim, in critical condition, was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu but unfortunately did not survive the journey.

Victims’ Identification

The deceased individuals have been identified as Vimal Kumar, son of Ram Nath from Mulla, Tehsil Thatri, District Doda, Shahzad Hussain, son of Abdul Aziz from Chanias, District Doda, and Mubashir Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohd from Gundna, Doda. The trio were employed by a private firm involved in installing digital meters in Udhampur.

Legal Formalities

After completing all necessary legal procedures and postmortem examinations, the Police handed over the bodies to the families of the deceased. A case has been registered in connection with the accident, and the driver of the truck involved has been arrested.
