Tragic Accident Claims Life of Danvers Man in Tazewell County
A Danvers man tragically lost his life on Tuesday after a fatal collision with a semi-truck as he exited Interstate 155 in Tazewell County.
The Tazewell County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Charles Jackson, aged 67, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:01 p.m. The incident occurred at the top of the off-ramp along the Townline Road exit near Tremont.

Authorities were alerted to the scene at 2:56 p.m. following the collision between Jackson’s vehicle and the semi-truck as he attempted to make a turn onto Townline Road.
An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday to determine the exact cause of death.
The Illinois State Police, along with the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office and the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office, are currently conducting an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the tragic crash.
