Two Men Arrested in Midland County Aggravated Assault Investigation
MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The Midland County Sheriff’s Office made significant progress in an aggravated assault investigation over the weekend, leading to the arrest of two men on Sunday.
Sheriff David Criner disclosed that on March 10, deputies promptly responded to a reported assault in the 2100 block of WCR 117. While specific details about the incident remain undisclosed, the investigation led to the identification of 30-year-old Devonte Andrew Drain as a suspect. A search warrant and an arrest warrant were swiftly secured, and during the execution of the search warrant at Drain’s residence, investigators discovered Drain and 31-year-old Gamarian Donald Brown, both convicted felons, in possession of two handguns, marijuana, THC, and cocaine.
Devonte Drain is facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of Marijuana. On the other hand, Gamarian Brown has been arrested for Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of Marijuana.

As of Wednesday afternoon, both Drain and Brown are being held in the Midland County Detention Center pending further legal proceedings. The investigation into the case is ongoing and the authorities are working diligently to gather more information and evidence.
