Tragic Accident on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway

Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning as a fish-laden truck overturned on the busy Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Chandina upazila in Comilla, claiming the lives of at least four people and leaving three others injured.

The incident occurred at around 6am, sending shockwaves through the local community. The deceased individuals have been identified as Rafiqul Islam, Monir Hossain, Habibur Rahman, and Akhter Hossain, whose lives were tragically cut short in this devastating accident.

Omar Faruk Mollah, in-charge of the Eliotganj Highway police outpost, shared that the truck, which was carrying fish from Noakhali to Dhaka, overturned after colliding with another vehicle on the highway. The injured victims were rushed to the Chandina Upazila Health Complex, where medical professionals worked tirelessly to save them. Sadly, four of the individuals succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead by doctors.

The bodies of the deceased have been taken to the Eliotganj police outpost, where they will be kept until the completion of necessary legal procedures. The truck involved in the accident has been seized by authorities as investigations into the cause of the tragic incident are underway.
