Victims and Suspect identified

The victims, identified as Moin and Aqeel, both in their twenties, were out for a leisurely walk with their neighbour, Tahir, after dinner when tragedy struck. The black SUV, driven by the accused Surya Pratap, 31, hit the trio, resulting in fatal injuries for Moin and Aqeel. Tahir, currently undergoing treatment at BRD Medical College, remains in critical condition.

The Gorakhpur police sprang into action immediately, arresting the accused Surya Pratap and impounding the vehicle involved in the accident. CCTV footage capturing the horrific incident went viral on social media, showing the speeding car hitting the unsuspecting youths and tossing them into the air.
