Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Tragedy struck on Monday as an Orange man and a woman from Houston lost their lives in a devastating three-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 in Orange County.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently conducting an investigation into the incident, which occurred on Interstate Highway 10 east, near the 861-mile marker in Orange County.

According to preliminary reports, the accident took place around 11:15 a.m. when a 2016 Ram 2500 and a 2023 Nissan Murano were travelling east in the inside lane. A 2021 Ram 1500, travelling in the wrong direction in the westbound lane, collided head-on with the 2016 Ram, causing both vehicles to veer left and be struck by the Nissan Murano.

The driver of the 2016 Ram pickup, identified as 62-year-old Javier Munoz from Houston, was rushed to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth in Beaumont for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

Tragically, Javier’s passenger, 53-year-old Dolores Munoz also from Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Rodney Price.

The driver of the 2021 Ram 1500, identified as 60-year-old James Wyatt from Orange, was also pronounced dead at the scene by Price.

Authorities have yet to release the identities of the occupants in the Nissan, as investigations are still ongoing.
