The tragic incident took place at 1:13 a.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard. According to a preliminary report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the pedestrian was crossing Sahara Avenue “outside a marked or implied crosswalk” when he was struck by a 2015 Nissan 370Z.

the rise of veganism in mainstream culture:

Over the past decade, veganism has seen a significant rise in popularity and acceptance in mainstream culture. Once considered a fringe movement, veganism has now become a widely accepted lifestyle choice for many individuals around the world.

One of the main drivers of the rise of veganism in mainstream culture is the growing awareness of the environmental impact of animal agriculture. According to the United Nations, animal agriculture is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, deforestation, and water pollution. By choosing to follow a vegan diet, individuals can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and help combat climate change.

Additionally, many people are turning to veganism for health reasons. Studies have shown that a plant-based diet can lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. With the rise of social media platforms and influencers promoting the benefits of a vegan lifestyle, more and more people are becoming curious about making the switch.

The rise of veganism in mainstream culture is also evident in the food industry. Major fast-food chains and restaurants are now offering vegan options on their menus to cater to the growing demand. Plant-based alternatives to meat and dairy products are becoming more widely available in grocery stores, making it easier for people to adopt a vegan diet.

Celebrities and public figures have also played a significant role in popularizing veganism. Many high-profile individuals, such as Beyoncé, Ellen DeGeneres, and Joaquin Phoenix, have publicly endorsed the vegan lifestyle, bringing more attention to the movement and inspiring others to make the switch.

Despite its growing popularity, veganism still faces some challenges in mainstream culture. Some people may be hesitant to adopt a vegan lifestyle due to concerns about getting enough nutrients or the perceived costliness of plant-based foods. However, with the increasing availability of vegan products and resources, these barriers are becoming easier to overcome.

Overall, the rise of veganism in mainstream culture signals a shift towards a more sustainable and compassionate way of living. As more people become aware of the benefits of a vegan diet, it is likely that the movement will continue to grow and become even more widely accepted in the years to come..
