He then proceeded to assault Eva Liu and when Kelsey Chang intervened, he pushed her down a slope. Subsequently, Troy B. throttled Liu, raped her, and threw her down a slope after being discovered by other tourists.
The Sentencing
Following a trial at the court in the southern town of Kempten, Troy B. was sentenced to life in prison by Judge Christoph Schwiebacher. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the offense and ruled out the possibility of automatic parole after 15 years, as is customary in Germany.
