Intense Shootout at Broward County Transit Facility

Body camera footage has captured a harrowing confrontation between deputies of the Broward Sheriff’s Office and a Broward County Transit employee involved in a fatal shooting incident in Pompano Beach. The incident took place at a Broward Transit maintenance facility, where the suspect, Rafael A. Molina, allegedly shot and killed his coworker, Warren Chambers, following a heated argument.

The Tragic Incident

The surveillance video revealed Molina waiting outside the facility as Chambers changed clothes. Shockingly, Molina retrieved a gun from a lunch box and cold-bloodedly executed his coworker. Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony described the chilling scene as Molina strategically positioned himself in an ambush inside a vacant bus, preparing to engage in a deadly shootout.

When confronted by deputies, Molina opened fire, prompting a fierce exchange of gunfire. Molina discharged six shots at the deputies, who responded with nearly 50 rounds in total. Noel Mercado, Deputy Joseph Sherbo, and Deputy Richard Delgaudio—were commended by Sheriff Tony, who expressed his intention to award them the Medal of Honor for their valiant actions.
