ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. (WNCN) — Authorities are on the lookout for a woman accused of aiding in the cover-up of a tragic incident involving the first-degree murder of a teenager in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. The Roanoke Rapids Police Department revealed on Friday that 34-year-old Alicia Shoulders, a resident of Roanoke Rapids, is wanted for her involvement in concealing the shooting death of 18-year-old Jamari Dejon Haskins from Chesapeake, Virginia.

The incident took place on February 27 when Haskins was fatally shot by 26-year-old Demarcus Tyvon Gilbert at Shoulders’ residence on the 200 block of Madison Street. Gilbert later confessed to the murder during questioning and was subsequently charged with first-degree murder. However, it was revealed that several other individuals present at the scene did not cooperate with the authorities.

Among those individuals were 18-year-old Kenneth Lamari Adkins and 30-year-old Thomas Lee Parham, both from Emporia, Virginia, along with Shoulders herself. Adkins turned himself in to the police on Monday and was charged with obstruction of justice, while Parham was arrested in Emporia on Tuesday and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina for similar charges.

Investigators identified Shoulders as the third person involved in attempting to cover up the murder. It was alleged that she provided false information to law enforcement in an effort to conceal Haskins’ death and assisted in cleaning up the crime scene prior to the arrival of the authorities. This deliberate act was believed to be an attempt to destroy crucial evidence.

Despite warrants issued for Shoulders’ arrest, she has since relocated from the Madison Street address where the crime occurred. Authorities have been unsuccessful in reaching her as she has not responded to any attempts to contact her or turn herself in.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Alicia Shoulders, please contact the Halifax County NC Crime Stoppers online or at (252) 583-4444. Your identity will remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward for providing valuable information.
