Hyderabad: A 36-year-old woman from Hyderabad, Chaithanya Madhagani, was reportedly killed by her husband in Australia. The tragic incident took place in Buckley, where Madhagani’s body was discovered in a wheelie bin on the side of a road over the weekend.

The victim, who resided in Australia with her husband and son, hailed from the Uppal area in Hyderabad. Following the heinous crime, the accused returned to Hyderabad and handed over their child to Madhagani’s grieving parents.

Upon learning of their daughter’s untimely demise, Madhagani’s parents sought assistance from Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy. The MLA, in response to the family’s plea, penned a letter to the Foreign Office, urging the repatriation of the deceased’s mortal remains to Hyderabad. Additionally, he notified Union Minister G Kishan Reddy’s office regarding the tragic incident.

According to the victim’s parents, their son-in-law has allegedly confessed to the heinous act. The Victoria Police released a statement on March 9, confirming that Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the case after the discovery of the deceased individual in Buckley. A second crime scene has been established at a residential address on Mirka Way, Point Cook, believed to be linked to the homicide.

Investigators are treating the death as suspicious and suspect that the parties involved were acquainted with each other. The offender is believed to have fled overseas. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to bring the perpetrator to justice.
