Tragic Incident in Thoothukudi: Three Children Drown in Tank

THOOTHUKUDI: In a heartbreaking incident, three children from the same family tragically drowned while taking a bath in a tank near Perurani on Saturday. The victims, identified as 13-year-old Santhiya, 10-year-old Krishnaveni, and 7-year-old Isakiraja, were the beloved children of Lakshmanan and Meena.

The incident occurred when the children were playing in the water along with their relatives. Unfortunately, the fun outing turned into a nightmare as the children accidentally slipped into the deep waters of the tank.

Local residents, upon hearing the commotion, rushed to the spot and managed to retrieve the bodies of the children. The authorities were immediately informed, and the bodies were transported to the Thoothukudi Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Investigation Underway

The Thattaparai police have launched an investigation into the tragic incident to determine the circumstances that led to the children’s untimely demise. Preliminary inquiries suggest that the children may have been unaware of the dangerous depths of the tank, leading to the tragic accident.
