Man in Custody on Burglary and Animal Cruelty Charges Suspected in Murder Case

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Authorities have identified Billy Cadle, a 44-year-old man from Cross Lanes in Kanawha County, as a suspect in a murder case. Cadle, who is currently in custody on burglary and animal cruelty charges, was arrested by state troopers following a burglary incident in Poca.

Upon further investigation, troopers discovered a crime scene in Cross Lanes with similarities to the Poca burglary. Tragically, they found the lifeless body of Michael Ols, a 53-year-old man, at the scene.

As of now, Cadle faces charges of daytime burglary and two counts of animal cruelty in Putnam County. Additionally, he is expected to be charged with first-degree murder and grand larceny in Kanawha County.
