Police Register Case Against Men Accused of Witchcraft at Crematorium in Guna, Madhya Pradesh
Authorities in Guna, Madhya Pradesh have taken action against two men who were allegedly performing witchcraft near a burning pyre at a local crematorium. The incident, which occurred in Gopalpura, has sparked outrage among the community.
The case was brought to the attention of the police by the relatives of a man named Ashwini Kewat, who had passed away due to a heart attack. Kewat’s family had taken his body to the crematorium to perform the last rites when they discovered the shocking scene.
According to City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Shweta Gupta, Kewat’s brother Nikhil and his friend Akash Raghuvanshi returned to the crematorium after the funeral to perform some rituals. It was then that they stumbled upon three individuals who were allegedly practising sorcery near the burning pyre.
The complaint lodged by Nikhil and Akash stated that the men, identified as Avinash Nath and Dilip Nath, were found with various materials and ashes from the pyre stuffed in a bottle. A third individual, identified as Rahul Bairagi, managed to escape from the scene.

With the help of locals, Nikhil and Akash managed to apprehend Avinash and Dilip before handing them over to the authorities. The police have since registered a case under Indian Penal Code sections 297 (trespassing on burial places, etc.) and 34 (common intention) and are conducting further investigations into the matter.
