CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A devastating multi-vehicle accident has resulted in the untimely deaths of two South Mecklenburg High School seniors, Kaia Hodge and Jada Cousins, as confirmed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.

The tragic incident occurred on a Friday morning at a bustling four-way intersection in south Charlotte, specifically at the junction of Old Pineville Road and Tyvola. The collision involved a sedan and a flatbed truck, leading to the loss of two young lives and leaving a third person with minor injuries.
Principal Mark Angerer of South Mecklenburg High School expressed profound sorrow over the heartbreaking loss, emphasizing the need for the school community to come together in support of one another during this difficult time. He encouraged students and staff members to seek grief counseling services, which will be available in the “E” cafeteria on Monday morning.
