Iranian Border Forces Thwart Terrorist Infiltration Attempt

TEHRAN – General Ahmad Ali Goodarzi, the border commander of the police force, has reported a recent clash with a terrorist group attempting to infiltrate the country for sabotage purposes.

General Goodarzi recently disclosed that a significant operation was carried out by the border guards of the Nehbandan border regiment in South Khorasan Province. The operation successfully intercepted a terrorist group’s attempt to enter the country and engage in destructive activities.

During the encounter, the border guards engaged in an armed conflict with the terrorists, leading to the capture of several members of the group. The terrorists, who sustained injuries during the clash, fled to a neighbouring country to evade capture.

Explosive Materials Seized

General Goodarzi revealed that the apprehended terrorists were in possession of a significant quantity of explosive materials. The seized items included war mines, TM metal mines, remote control transmitters and receivers, war ammunition, night vision cameras, and other related equipment.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

In a separate incident, two individuals suspected of terrorist activities were recently arrested in the northern province of Golestan. The suspects, a man and a woman, were found to be in possession of explosive materials upon their apprehension.

General Montazer-al-Mahdi, the police spokesperson, confirmed that legal proceedings against the suspects are underway. The authorities plan to hand them over to the judicial system for further investigation and trial.

Furthermore, the police force has also successfully arrested two terrorists in southern Iran, seizing a firearm and various equipment from the suspects. General Montazer-al-Mahdi highlighted the meticulous technical and intelligence monitoring that led to the swift apprehension of these individuals.

Response to Terrorist Attacks

Following a terrorist attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, which resulted in the martyrdom of 11 police forces, Iran’s police chief, Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Radan, vowed to target terrorists wherever they may be. The chief emphasised the need for unity among different religious sects and ethnicities in the face of terrorism.

The terrorist group responsible for the attack, Jaish-ul-Adl, claimed responsibility for the deadly incident. Iran’s interior minister has pointed fingers at Israel, accusing the regime of recruiting and training terrorists to carry out such attacks.

In response to the escalating threats posed by terrorist groups, Iranian authorities are working diligently with intelligence forces and other armed units to bring all perpetrators to justice. The commitment to fighting terrorism remains unwavering, with a strong focus on maintaining peace and security within the country.
