RED BLUFF— The Red Bluff Police Department has reported a successful operation following a search warrant execution, which resulted in the discovery of drugs, weapons, and multiple arrests.

The investigation began on January 24 when officers responded to an armed robbery incident near Aloha Street and Deborah Drive in Red Bluff. According to a press release issued by the department on Friday, the incident involved an 18-year-old Anderson resident who claimed he had been robbed while attempting to sell marijuana in Red Bluff. The victim stated that he had arranged the deal through a social media platform and was subsequently robbed at gunpoint by individuals who stole his marijuana and wallet.

Following the investigation, officers were able to identify one of the suspects as a 17-year-old resident of Red Bluff. A search warrant for the suspect’s home was obtained, along with an arrest warrant for robbery and assault with a firearm.

A joint law enforcement team comprising officers from the Red Bluff Police Department, Tehama County Bureau of Investigations, and Tehama County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrants at a residence on the 1200 block of Walnut Street.

Upon approaching the residence, officers encountered the suspect’s mother, identified as Hilary Kennon, 37, of Oroville, who was reportedly smoking methamphetamine at the time. Kennon resisted arrest when officers attempted to detain her and was subsequently arrested on charges of resisting arrest and possession of methamphetamine.

The juvenile suspect was also arrested and booked into Tehama County Juvenile Hall on charges of robbery and assault with a firearm. Due to his age, the suspect’s identity has not been disclosed.

During the search of the residence, officers uncovered a significant amount of methamphetamine drug-related paraphernalia, bags of methamphetamine, a loaded flare gun converted to shoot .22 long rifle, and an unregistered 12-gauge shotgun.

Following Kennon’s arrest, police allege that she attempted to smuggle a bag of fentanyl into the Tehama County Correctional Facility by hiding it in her undergarments. Authorities are now recommending additional felony charges for bringing drugs into a correctional facility.

The Red Bluff Police Department is continuing its investigation into the case and is actively seeking to identify any other suspects involved. Anyone with information related to the incident is urged to contact the Red Bluff Police Department at 530-527-3131.
