A Pontiac resident has been formally charged with multiple felonies, including second-degree murder, in connection with a fatal shooting at the Night Riders Motorcycle Club. Malcom Robert Boykin, aged 55, is facing charges in the death of Charlie Isaac Odneal, a 42-year-old also from Pontiac. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office made this announcement in a press release issued on Saturday.

Apart from the murder charge, Boykin is also facing allegations of assault with intent to murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and multiple counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigation Details

Following a thorough investigation led by detectives, including a special agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, it was determined that the incident stemmed from an argument, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

Boykin was taken into custody on Wednesday and is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail. Magistrate Michael Bosnic of the 52-1 District Court has ordered Boykin to be held without bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 19 in the 50th District Court for a probable cause conference.

Location of the Incident

Deputies responded to a call at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the Night Riders Motorcycle Club’s establishment on Raeburn Street near Sanford Street in Pontiac following reports of a possible shooting, according to sheriff’s officials.

Upon arrival, authorities were informed that the victim, identified as Odneal, had been transported to a local hospital. Detectives later identified Boykin as the perpetrator, and he was apprehended without resistance by the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team at a nearby motel in the early hours of Wednesday. Tragically, Odneal succumbed to his injuries shortly after 5 a.m. on Wednesday at the hospital.
