The Tragic Death of Balagangadhar Tilak in Vijayawada Sub-Jail

On March 8, a remand prisoner named Balagangadhar Tilak passed away under mysterious circumstances at the Vijayawada Sub-Jail. The 39-year-old auto-rickshaw driver from Gollapalem Gattu in the One Town area had been arrested for drunk driving just two days prior. Following his court appearance, Tilak was sentenced to seven days in prison and fined ₹10,000.
