Accident – Death – Obituary News : A suspect has been apprehended following a tragic incident where a person was discovered deceased at the Redondo Beach Pier parking structure. The suspect, identified as Alexis Martinez, 29, from Inglewood, was taken into custody by the Redondo Beach Police Department.

The incident took place on Feb. 16 at around 6:10 a.m. when authorities responded to the structure located at 100 West Torrance Boulevard. An unconscious victim was found by a public works employee on a stairwell inside the parking lot, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Despite initial investigations, the suspect was not located in the vicinity at the time of the incident.

After diligent detective work and valuable information received through a public tip line, law enforcement was able to identify Martinez as the prime suspect. On March 6, he was located in Inglewood and subsequently arrested. Martinez is facing charges of murder and is currently being held on $2 million bail, with a court hearing scheduled for March 8 at the Torrance Courthouse.

The victim’s identity and gender have not been disclosed, pending an investigation by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Police suspect that the victim may have been experiencing homelessness at the time of the incident.
