Second British Man Arrested in Thailand Over Drug Offences
A second British man has been arrested in Thailand over drug offences, as police continue to crack down on foreigners in the country. Peter Hull, 44, was taken into custody on March 1 after neighbours raised concerns about his unusual behaviour at his home in Koh Samui.

Hull’s arrest comes just a week after fellow Brit backpacker Andrew Brett was detained in Thailand for reportedly carrying cocaine and LSD. Police raided Hull’s rented home and allegedly discovered cocaine and ecstasy, both Class A drugs that carry severe penalties in Thailand.
Discovery of Drugs in Hull’s Home
During the search of Hull’s home, police found 30 yellow pills engraved with an owl motif, weighing 4.68 grams, and three bags of cocaine, weighing 6.32 grams. Hull allegedly confessed to purchasing the narcotics from another foreigner via a black market website, for around 35,000 baht (£770).
Police Major Pasathorn Saenyindee of Surat Thani Immigration Bureau stated that Hull’s tourist visa had expired on January 8, leading to additional charges of drug possession and visa offences. Saenyindee warned that Hull could now face a lengthy prison sentence or deportation.
Police Crackdown on Foreigners in Thailand
As authorities continue their sweeping crackdown on foreigners in Thailand, at least 20 individuals have been arrested in Phuket in recent days. Ministers have issued warnings to ‘guests in the country’ to behave, emphasizing that there will be no leniency for lawbreakers.

Andrew Brett, a 35-year-old newlywed father, was arrested on February 29 after a five-month undercover police operation. He was found to be dealing hard drugs to tourists in southern Thailand and now faces the possibility of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
Family’s Shock at Hull and Brett’s Arrests
Speaking to MailOnline, Andrew Brett’s father, John, expressed disbelief at his son’s arrest, stating, ‘I just can’t believe this has happened. He had everything going for him. He seemed to have the perfect life.’
The arrests of Hull and Brett serve as a stark reminder of the strict laws and consequences surrounding drug offences in Thailand. Foreigners are urged to abide by the country’s regulations to avoid facing serious legal repercussions.
