Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded late Wednesday night south of Red Deer, Alberta, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old man in a two-vehicle collision. The Red Deer man was involved in a crash between two semi-trucks at the intersection of Highway 791 and Highway 27, just east of Olds, Alberta.
According to the Olds RCMP, the collision occurred around 11:55 p.m. when one of the semis traveling south on Highway 791 failed to stop at the intersection with Highway 27. The errant semi was struck by another semi heading west along Highway 27.
Tragically, the driver of the southbound semi did not survive the crash, while the driver of the other semi was treated by EMS at the scene and subsequently released. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed at this time.
Emergency crews responded to the scene promptly, diverting traffic from the highway for several hours as they worked to clear the area. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers that can arise on the road, especially in cases of negligence or oversight.
