Woman Found Trapped in Shipping Container in Cocoa Beach, Florida

The Cocoa Beach Police Department in Florida has located a woman who went missing on Wednesday. The woman, identified as 52-year-old Marlene Lopez, was last seen at her residence on Lucerne Drive on Monday. Concerns were raised when she did not show up to pick up her son, prompting a coworker to contact law enforcement.

Authorities immediately sprang into action, initiating a search of known areas, interviewing family members, and issuing a missing person alert. It was not until Thursday, just before noon, that officials received the news that Lopez had been discovered.

According to reports, Lopez was found trapped inside a shipping container situated next to a business at 2005 N. Cocoa Blvd. The sound of her banging on the container’s door alerted a passerby who promptly unlocked it and freed her. Thankfully, Lopez did not sustain any injuries, but as a precaution, she was taken to the hospital for evaluation and potential treatment for dehydration.

When questioned about her ordeal, Lopez could only express confusion, stating, “I don’t know. I was in one place…found in another.” The circumstances surrounding her confinement in the shipping container remain under investigation by the authorities.
