PROCTOR, Vt. (NEWS10) — Vermont State Police have launched an investigation into a tragic car accident that occurred in Proctor on Thursday morning. The incident took place at approximately 5:18 a.m. along Vermont Route 3.
Upon arrival at the scene, emergency medical responders discovered the lifeless body of the driver, identified as 77-year-old John Cioffi from Proctor. Preliminary reports indicate that Cioffi was travelling southbound on Vermont Route 3 in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when his vehicle veered off the road and descended an embankment.
