Hamilton Police Investigate Second Homicide of the Year

Hamilton Police are currently investigating the City’s second homicide of the year, which took place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. The incident occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. in the vicinity of 119 King Street West, Hamilton. Responding officers discovered a male victim on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the victim, identified as 19-year-old Alexander Circiumaru of Hamilton, was pronounced dead.

According to the investigation, Alexander Circiumaru was walking on the sidewalk when a lone male assailant emerged from a vehicle and fired multiple shots at him. The shooter then fled the scene in the same vehicle, described as a newer model Honda Civic in black or dark grey with a spoiler on the trunk. The suspect was dressed in all black clothing and wore a face mask during the attack.

Authorities suspect that this was a targeted assault and are currently examining CCTV footage in the area to identify the individuals involved.
