Young Man Found Dead in Pennsylvania identified as Missing Massachusetts Resident

GIRARD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A tragic discovery was made in Girard Township, Pennsylvania, as the body of a young man found dead has been identified as 19-year-old Timothy Kravchenko, a resident of Chicopee, Massachusetts who had been reported missing.

According to Clearfield County Coroner Kim Shaffer Snyder, Kravchenko’s body was found on Sunday morning, a week after he crashed his car in the area. The incident occurred following a “minor” car crash near the intersection of Gillingham and Ridge roads in Girard Township on Feb. 24. Kravchenko fled the scene of the crash, prompting Pennsylvania State Police to list him as a missing person from Chicopee.

In a missing person report, state police stated that Kravchenko had left his vehicle after the crash, and his family and friends had not heard from him since. They also mentioned that Kravchenko was not familiar with the area and did not have a phone to seek assistance.

It was revealed that Kravchenko had traveled to Pennsylvania from Chicopee the day before the crash, although his destination at the time remains unclear.

An autopsy was conducted on Kravchenko’s body on Monday, but the results are still pending review, as confirmed by Snyder’s office. The circumstances surrounding Kravchenko’s death are currently under investigation.
