Man from Prairie Farm Faces Felony Drug Charges After Routine Traffic Stop in Turtle Lake

A routine traffic stop in Turtle Lake has led to felony drug charges being filed against a man from Prairie Farm. The incident took place on Feb. 22, when the defendant, identified as Michael Allan Nelson, 35, was pulled over near one of the roundabouts in Turtle Lake. The arresting officer noticed that the vehicle driven by Nelson did not stay in its designated lane while circling the roundabout.

Discovery of Illegal Substances

During the traffic stop, the officer detected the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle. When questioned about the presence of any illegal substances, Nelson reportedly refused to answer. As a result, he was placed in custody and the vehicle was searched. The search revealed the presence of substances that were later identified as marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
