Pontiac Man Arrested in Fatal Shooting Following Motorcycle Club Argument

FOX 2 (WJBK) – A 55-year-old man from Pontiac has been taken into custody in connection with a fatal shooting that stemmed from a dispute among members of a motorcycle club, according to authorities.

The suspect was apprehended at a local motel at 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday and is accused of the killing of 42-year-old Charlie Isaac Odneal, also from Pontiac.

“What began as a verbal altercation tragically escalated into a senseless act of violence,” remarked Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “I commend the swift actions of our law enforcement team in identifying and apprehending the suspect in a timely manner.”

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to an emergency call at the Night Riders Motorcycle Club on Raeburn and Sanford in Pontiac at 9:15 p.m. following reports of a potential shooting incident.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officials discovered that the victim had been transported to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle. Subsequent investigations led to the positive identification of the suspect, who was later apprehended without resistance by the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team at a nearby motel in the early hours of the morning.

Despite medical intervention, Odneal succumbed to his injuries shortly after 5 a.m. on the same day. Detectives, in conjunction with a special agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, concluded that the tragic incident was the product of a heated argument.

The case is scheduled to be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office for evaluation and potential charges by Friday at the earliest.
