Hit-and-Run Incident Leaves Two Elderly Pedestrians Dead in Marlboro, New York
Marlboro, NY — A tragic hit-and-run incident in Marlboro on Friday evening resulted in the deaths of two elderly pedestrians, one of whom was in a wheelchair.
The New York State Police reported that around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, troopers responded to a report of a hit-and-run fatal collision involving two pedestrians at 1347 Route 9W in Marlboro.
Details of the Incident
According to the preliminary investigation, Donna Cristallo, 72, of Kingston, was pushing Stephen Celluch, 75, also of Kingston, in his wheelchair from the east side of 9W to the west side when tragedy struck.
As they reached the southbound lane of traffic, a 2020 Kia Fortes struck both Cristallo and Celluch. Tragically, Celluch was pronounced dead at the scene, while Cristallo succumbed to her injuries after being taken by EMS to St. Luke’s Hospital.

The driver of the Kia, identified as Angela Fischl, 25, of Newburgh, fled the scene but was later apprehended by members of the Town of Newburgh Police Department on North Plank Road.
