Officer-Involved Shooting in Calvin, Oklahoma

On Sunday, the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation following an officer-involved shooting in Calvin, Oklahoma.

Details of the Incident

Earlier that evening, Hughes County deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop south of Atwood. The driver, identified as 45-year-old Clovis Lee Reeves Jr., failed to cooperate and led deputies on a pursuit. The chase came to an end in a rural area near 377 Road and 144 Road in Calvin.

Reeves exited his vehicle armed with a firearm, prompting deputies to pursue him on foot. The situation escalated, resulting in the shooting. Reeves was treated at the scene and subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Fortunately, none of the deputies on the scene sustained any injuries. The OSBI expressed gratitude towards the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office for their collaboration in the investigation.
