Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Garbage Truck in Oshawa

Authorities in Oshawa are appealing for information following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a 57-year-old woman who was struck by a garbage truck on Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Bond Street West and Centre Street North at approximately 8:10 a.m. According to police reports, the pedestrian was hit by the driver of the garbage truck as it was making a right turn from Centre Street onto Bond Street.

The driver of the garbage truck, a 53-year-old man from Toronto, remained at the scene following the incident. The victim’s identity has been confirmed, but her name has not been released to the public at this time.

Following the collision, the roadway was temporarily closed to allow for investigations to take place. However, it has since been reopened to traffic.
