Man Arrested in DUI Crash that Killed Passenger in Seal Beach

A tragic incident occurred in Seal Beach in the early hours of Monday morning, resulting in the death of a passenger in a DUI crash. The incident took place at the intersection of Seal Beach Boulevard and North Gate Road around 2 a.m., where officers responded to a report of a traffic accident involving an unresponsive female passenger.

Upon arrival, detectives discovered that the passenger had been ejected from the vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Victor Alfonso Campos Carranza from Los Angeles, was taken to a hospital for treatment before being transferred to Orange County Jail.

Sigalert Issued and Road Closures

As a result of the crash, a Sigalert was issued affecting various lanes in the area. Southbound lanes on Seal Beach Boulevard at Old Ranch Parkway, several northbound lanes at Golden Rain Road, and both north and southbound San Diego (405) Freeway off-ramp left turn lanes at Seal Beach Boulevard were impacted until 11:30 a.m.
