Accident – Death – Obituary News : MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) – Tragedy struck on Monday evening as a 22-year-old Macomb County man lost his life in a devastating motorcycle crash. The incident occurred at 7:06 p.m. on March 4, when authorities were alerted to a motorcyclist behaving recklessly on South River Road in Harrison Township, weaving dangerously through traffic.
Reports indicated that the motorcyclist, later identified as Ryan Lieb from Chesterfield Township, had lost control of his bike and crashed near Hamon Street. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found Lieb unresponsive in the middle of the road, and unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on site.
Investigations into the crash revealed that Lieb was traveling east on South River Road towards Townhall Street at a high rate of speed. As he attempted to pass another vehicle, he veered into the oncoming traffic lane and collided with the rear passenger side of a Ford Explorer that was turning into a residence. The impact threw Lieb off his motorcycle, leading to the tragic outcome.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team has taken over the investigation to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal crash. Despite initial speculations, authorities have confirmed that alcohol was not a contributing factor in the incident.
