Man identified in Fatal Shooting in Takoma Park
The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) has confirmed the identity of the man who tragically lost his life in a shooting incident that occurred in the unincorporated area of Takoma Park on Sunday morning.

Reports indicate that on March 3rd, at approximately 7:15 a.m., law enforcement officers were dispatched to the 6700 block of New Hampshire Avenue following a distressing report of a shooting.
Upon arrival at the scene, authorities discovered a man who had sustained gunshot wounds in the stairwell of an apartment building. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the location.
The deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Derek Coleman, whose address at the time of the incident remains unknown.

The PGPD is currently undertaking a thorough investigation to ascertain the motive behind the shooting and to identify any potential suspects involved in this heinous crime.
