Terrebonne Parish Man Arrested in Connection with Sex Crimes Investigation

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet has announced the arrest of Cameron Paul Rodrigue, an 18-year-old man from Houma, Louisiana, in connection with a sex crimes investigation conducted in Terrebonne Parish. Rodrigue faces charges of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile following the completion of the investigation.

On March 1, 2024, deputies from the Patrol Division received information regarding a missing teenager from Thibodaux who was reportedly seen at a local hotel in Terrebonne Parish. Upon responding to the hotel, deputies discovered the missing teen in a room with Cameron Paul Rodrigue. Upon further investigation, deputies observed signs of sexual contact between the two individuals, prompting the involvement of the Special Victim’s Unit.

The Special Victim’s Unit conducted a thorough investigation, confirming that sexual intercourse had taken place between Rodrigue and the juvenile on multiple occasions.

Following the investigation, Cameron Paul Rodrigue was arrested on charges of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and was instructed not to have any further contact with the teen. However, SVU Detectives later found evidence that Rodrigue had continued to contact the juvenile, potentially leading to additional charges.

Subsequently, Rodrigue was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex where he remains in custody. Sheriff Tim Soignet emphasised that the investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.

Sheriff Soignet also highlighted the need for patience and privacy for the victim and their family during this difficult time. He assured the public that detectives are working diligently to bring a resolution to this troubling investigation.
