The Tragic Incident in Herman

A 25-year-old man tragically lost his life in Herman after a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound following a pursuit by Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputies on Saturday night. The man, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was suspected of firing a gun at deputies during the incident, which unfolded in the quiet town of Herman.

The Pursuit and Suspect

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 28-year-old Mario Rezall Dajaun Doyle Jr., fled from law enforcement and is currently being sought. The sheriff’s office confirmed that the suspect vehicle was located in Sheboygan County, but Doyle is believed to have left the area.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Doyle’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement immediately and to refrain from approaching him as he is considered dangerous. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office has been called in to investigate the incident further.

The Unfolding Events

The incident began when a sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop the vehicle on State 32 and County FF in Herman at 11:22 p.m. on Saturday. The vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit by law enforcement officers.

After the vehicle came to a stop near County M and County Line Road in Herman, the passenger exited the vehicle and fired multiple rounds at the officers. Fortunately, no officers were injured, and the passenger fled on foot while the driver drove away from the scene.

The Investigation and Conclusion

Sheboygan County and Manitowoc drone teams were deployed to assist in capturing the suspect. As the drones approached the area, a distant gunshot was heard by responding officers. The drone team later identified a heat signature, leading officers to discover the passenger with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries. The sheriff’s office has stated that further details will not be released until the driver, Doyle, is apprehended.
