Man Dead After Shooting in Hardin County, Kentucky

Louisville, Ky. (WAVE) – Tragedy struck in Hardin County, Kentucky, between Elizabethtown and Radcliff on Sunday morning as a man lost his life in a fatal shooting incident.

Hardin County Chief Deputy David Lee reported that the authorities received a distressing call at approximately 11 a.m. regarding a person found injured in the 5000 block of North Dixie Highway. Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement discovered a man lying in the road behind an auto shop with a gunshot wound to his face.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Derrick J. Franks, a resident of Radcliff, Kentucky.

In a swift turn of events, 25-year-old Cruz C. Frescas from Bullitt County emerged as a suspect in the case and was apprehended later that same day in Shelby County. Frescas is currently in custody at the Shelby County Jail as the investigation unfolds.
