Woman Arrested After Assaulting Officer at Gas Station in Oxford
In a shocking turn of events, a woman has been arrested after allegedly assaulting an officer at a gas station in Oxford, Mississippi. Jacqueline Denise Giles, 36, is facing charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of a stolen firearm.

The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Double Quick parking lot in Oxford. Police were called to the scene to respond to a disturbance involving a large crowd.
Altercation at Gas Station
Upon arrival, officers witnessed a fight between two men near a gas pump. An officer intervened to break up the fight, but things took a dangerous turn when the officer felt a cold, metal object pressed against their temple.
According to reports, the officer managed to disarm the suspect, later identified as Jacqueline Denise Giles, and placed her under arrest without further incident.

It was later discovered that the firearm in question had been reported stolen in Oxford back in 2020, adding another layer of seriousness to the incident.
Police Chief’s Warning
Oxford Police Chief Jess McCutchen emphasized the importance of officers working together and being prepared for potentially dangerous situations. He expressed concern that this incident could have ended tragically, highlighting the need for vigilance and caution on the job.
Jacqueline Denise Giles is currently behind bars on a $275,000 bond, awaiting further legal proceedings.
