Armed Shooting Suspect Apprehended in Beardstown, Illinois

In a swift response to a report of shots fired, Cass County authorities successfully apprehended an “armed and dangerous” shooting suspect in Beardstown, Illinois. The incident took place on Saturday evening, with the suspect identified as Andrew J. Wright.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Beardstown Police, swiftly responded to the scene near Clay Street and East 5th Street after receiving reports of gunfire just before 6 p.m. A victim with non-life-threatening injuries was found at the location and promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Following the incident, authorities launched a search for the suspect, Andrew J. Wright, who was reported to be at large. The Sheriff’s Office took to social media to alert the public and seek assistance in locating the suspect. The Illinois State Police also joined the investigation to aid in the search for Wright.

It wasn’t until the early hours of Sunday morning that Beardstown Police located and arrested Andrew J. Wright at 5:05 a.m. The Sheriff’s Office promptly updated the public via social media, reassuring the community that there was no further known risk.
