Tragic Fire Accident Claims Lives of Three Children in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu

Three children tragically lost their lives in a devastating fire accident suspected to be caused by a gas leak at their home in Chengalpattu, near Chennai in Tamil Nadu. The mother of the children, who suffered severe burn injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at the Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital, as reported by PTI.

A police official informed PTI that the fire was likely sparked by a gas leak within the house. The family, originally from Bihar, had a stove positioned on the floor, and the absence of windows in the house may have exacerbated the situation.

According to The New Indian Express, neighbours sprang into action upon hearing the family’s cries for help. All four family members were swiftly transported to the hospital for medical attention.

The tragic incident unfolded when the mother, accompanied by her three children, returned home after visiting her husband’s workplace near the Chengalpattu railway station on Thursday. Upon switching on the lights, the gas ignited, resulting in a sudden outbreak of fire.
