Patna, March 02: A devastating incident unfolded in Makhnaha village, located in the Darbhanga district of Bihar, where a 22-year-old videographer, Sushil Kumar Sahni, lost his life in a senseless act of violence. The young videographer was fatally shot after the camera battery died during a birthday party he was hired to film.

Sahni, a resident of Makhnaha village, was hired by a local resident, Rakesh Sahni, to capture moments from his daughter’s birthday celebration. Tragically, the camera’s battery ran out of charge midway through the event, leading to a confrontation between Sahni and Rakesh.

Reports from TOI suggest that Rakesh, in a fit of rage, allegedly shot Sahni in the mouth. Despite being rushed to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital, Sahni could not survive his injuries.

Villagers Demand Justice

Following the tragic incident, villagers in Makhnaha expressed their outrage by blocking traffic on the Laheriasarai main road, demanding swift action against the perpetrators. The situation escalated until Benipur SDPO Sumit Kumar intervened and cleared the blockade, restoring traffic flow in the area.

The deceased’s father has filed an FIR against Rakesh, who is currently on the run. Preliminary investigations have revealed that Rakesh may be involved in the illegal liquor trade, adding another layer of complexity to the case. The police have detained three individuals for questioning and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect.
