Henry County Sheriff’s Office Searching for Suspect in Shooting Incident

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is on the lookout for a suspect involved in a shooting incident that left a man injured on Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the incident took place at 5269 Mitchell Road in Ridgeway around 4:53 a.m. on Saturday. The 911 center received a call reporting that a man, identified as 51-year-old Shannon Bryant, had been shot in the back.

Deputies arrived on the scene and found Bryant with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to SOVAH Health Martinsville for treatment of life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.

During the course of their investigation, authorities discovered that 43-year-old Timothy Howell, hailing from Kernersville, North Carolina, had visited the residence in the early hours of the morning. An altercation ensued between Howell and Bryant, during which Howell allegedly shot Bryant once before fleeing the scene.

Warrants have been issued for Howell on charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
